Situated between the Rocky Mountains and prairielands of Treaty 7 Territory in what we now call Southern Alberta, Canada, the 7th International Indigenous Voices in Social Work (IIVSW) Conference gathering seeks to create connections and memories that lead to action and systemic changes that benefit Indigenous children, communities and families.
The conference welcomes peoples from communities, practice, and research for learning, cultural exchanges, and the sharing of wisdoms to dialogue and strengthen our spirits. Participants will meet, feast, and travel for experiential learning opportunities.
The 7th IIVSW Conference aligns with the University of Calgary’s Indigenous Strategy ii’taa’poh’to’p, Blackfoot for “A place to rejuvenate and re-energize during a journey”. This gathering offers opportunities for cultural exchange, shared learning, and the sharing of wisdom that strengthens the spirit and intentions of parallel paths and ethical space.
